On Sunday 3rd August our Men took part in the Bucks Plate semi- final which was held at Amersham Bowls Club against Waddesdon Bowls Club.

After a very early start, meeting at 8.15 in the morning as the start was for 10.00am we arrived with plenty of time and all enjoyed a bacon or sausage roll with a tea or coffee on arrival.

We were against a very strong Waddesdon team which included both County champions as well as England players and unfortunately the result was not in our favour but all players did their best and as a club we should all congratulate all players who have taken part in the Bucks Cup and then the Bucks Plate as well.

I would personally like to thank all players who have played in this competition and you have all done the club proud and have emphasised that we are a club that can compete at a good level. We played all matches in the right manner and this was shown yesterday despite the result not being the right one for us.

Waddesdon will now meet Iver Heath in the final to be held at Woburn Sands on the 7th September at 09.45 with the Bucks Cup final between Wolverton Town and Bletchley Town at the same venue at 2.15pm

Hopefully we can go one better next year.

Thanks to all players.
