Pedal for Paris

Olympic Champion and Tour de France winner Chris Boardman CBE is currently taking part in Pedal For Paris, which is raising awareness to tackle climate change and sustain grass roots sport for the next generation. Chris is biking from Manchester to Paris and had an overnight stop in Milton Keynes. We were invited by LEAP, the Active Partnership for Bucks and MK, on behalf of Sport England to attend the send off in the morning and talk a bit about our interest in sustainable energy including our solar panels and LED lighting. Ann Fitzjohn and Jim McKenna went along to represent the club and were able to chat to Chris and the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Marie Bradburn, about the club and our progress in the sustainable energy field. At 10am, on what is likely to be the hottest day of the year so far, Chris set off on the next leg of his ride accompanied by a number of local riders.
