President Day - 16 -08-26

President’s Day 2026 at St Martins

For the last few years President’s Day has been President vs Captain.

So, this year I went back to the days of Past President’s and invited six local clubs to send a mixed rink to play six mixed rinks from St. Martins.

The day started with a Spider, which incidentally was won by one of our former members. The day continued with an 18 end game between teams from Bradwell, Wolverton Town, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford, Bletchley Town and Buckingham West End and St Martins.  Resulting in a victory for the President’s visitors. 

After the game instead of the more usual salad we had a BBQ tea which went down really well. Followed by Cheesecake and cream. We also had a Grand Raffle, a Tombola & a Handicraft stall with all proceeds going to Willen Hospice everything was donated and the sum raised for Willen Hospice was £500.

Thanks went to Lesley Stewart, Linda Burdett, Chris Zscherpel, Caroline Worsfold, Carol Jeffery, Jill Harper, Phil & Kat Emerson and of course my wife Carol.

From the comments I received from our visitors everyone had a very enjoyable afternoon and would like to do it all over again.
